What does it take to relocate the Anheuser-Busch Distributor that services Delaware, Bucks, Berks and Montgomery counties? litemovers.com, a moving company based out of Wayne, PA knows firsthand after recently completing a massive 300,000-square-foot move that relocated Gretz Beer from East Main Street in Norristown to Hatboro, PA.
“You can’t complete a complicated move like this on the spot,” said Ed Bogusz, Co-Owner of litemovers.com who handles business operations for the company. “Regular communication with Gretz Staff, IT and Graffen Business Systems and Movers Specialty Services led to an efficient workflow and a smooth move for the company.” All 85 Gretz employees left work on Friday afternoon and all 85 arrived on Monday at their new location ready to work.
Communication included working closely with Dianna Hart, who is in charge of Human Resources for Gretz Beer, and was also Litemovers’ logistical partner for the move. “They did really well,” said Hart of the move. “They were very flexible, very organized. The first night I thought I’d be here all night, but they were quick.” litemovers.comcompleted the entire pack and move from start to finish in 5 days.
Included in litemovers.com checklist of items to transport was an entire warehouse of beer paraphernalia such as pint glasses, tap handles, beer clocks, neon signs, apparel and Clydesdale decorations, to name a few. Many of these promotional marketing items are distributed to benefit any number of bars, local distributors and restaurants in the four-county area that receive Gretz’ Anheuser-Busch products. Litemovers also assisted with moving Gretz’ print shop, including its delicate digital printers.
The cans, bottles and kegs of beer which filled Gretz’ newly completed refrigerated warehouse was moved by Gretz employees themselves, since moving beer is their specialty. Hart credits Litemovers’ organized system for the smooth transition of the company.
The move for this major player in the local beer scene was officially completed in October and Gretz employees have quickly settled in to their new state of the art facility.
“The challenges of moving a business by far exceed that of a household move,” said Bogusz. “Someone that manages a move like this must take the mindset of the business owner. Downtime can cost a business more than the move itself. Putting a plan together that offers the least compromises to everyday operations is critical.”
