Furniture-Only Movers Near Me: Single-Item & Partial Moves
When you need movers for one piece, a few pieces, or just to rearrange what is already in the house.
Not every move is a whole house. Sometimes it is one piece of furniture from a store. A piano. A dining set from Mom’s house. A sectional from Facebook Marketplace. Furniture-only moves are routine for us. Here is how they work.
When you need furniture-only movers
- ✓ Single-item pickups from stores, warehouses, or sellers
- ✓ Inherited furniture from a parent’s or relative’s home
- ✓ Marketplace purchases — Facebook, Craigslist, estate sales
- ✓ Pianos and heavy items needing specialized equipment
- ✓ In-house rearranging — moving large pieces between rooms or floors
- ✓ Delivery from storage — bringing one or two pieces out of warehouse storage
How furniture-only jobs work
The process is the same as a full move, just scaled.
- Quote. Tell us the item, the pickup location, and the destination. We confirm access (stairs, elevators, doorways).
- Schedule. Most furniture-only jobs schedule within a few days. Same-week and same-day options are sometimes available.
- Crew arrives. Two movers in most cases, three for pianos and heavy items.
- Pad-wrap and load. Every piece gets pad-wrapped before loading. Doorways and floors at each end are protected.
- Deliver and place. We deliver to the room of your choice. Reassemble if disassembly was needed.
Common furniture-only jobs we handle
Piano moves
Upright pianos, baby grands, and full grand pianos. Specialized equipment, experienced crew, careful planning around stairs and turns. See our piano moving service page for more.
Single appliance delivery
Refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers. Pickup from a store, delivery, basic placement. Hook-up usually handled by the appliance retailer.
Bedroom sets
Bed, dresser, nightstand. We disassemble the bed at pickup, transport, reassemble at delivery.
Dining sets
Table, chairs, china cabinet, buffet. Often involves disassembling the table legs and pad-wrapping each piece.
Office furniture
Desks, file cabinets, bookcases. Common in home office setup or relocation.
In-house moves
Moving heavy items between floors, rearranging during a renovation, swapping rooms. No truck involved — just two experienced movers with the right equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I hire movers for just a few pieces of furniture?
Yes. Furniture-only moves — sometimes called partial moves or single-item moves — are routine for us. A piano, a sectional, a dining set, a piece of office furniture, a single bedroom set. We handle it with the same crew, equipment, and care as a full-home move, scaled to the job.
Do I need a full crew for one piece of furniture?
Usually not. A two-person crew handles most furniture-only jobs. For pianos, large safes, or items needing to navigate tight stairs, we may add a third mover. We size the crew to the job rather than charging for capacity you do not need.
Can you move furniture I bought from Facebook Marketplace or a store?
Yes. We pick up furniture from sellers, retailers, or warehouses and deliver to your home. This is one of our most common furniture-only services. We confirm the pickup address, the item dimensions, and any access details (stairs, doorways, elevators) ahead of time so the move goes cleanly.
How long does a furniture-only move take?
Most furniture-only jobs take 1-3 hours total, depending on the number of pieces, the distance between locations, and the access at each end (stairs, elevators, parking). Heavier items like pianos or large safes can take longer. We confirm timing at the estimate.
Do you move furniture within the same house?
Yes. In-house furniture moves are a standard service. Rearranging furniture between rooms, moving heavy items from floor to floor, dismantling and reassembling bed frames or dining tables, swapping rooms during a renovation. We handle all of it under the same tariff as a regular local move.
