St. Peters Village Movers: One Street, No Turnaround, and a Planned Carry

St. Peters Village is one street of 1800s buildings on a ledge above French Creek. The falls and the boulders sit below, and the woods of French Creek State Park wrap all around. There is no turnaround, weekend visitors fill the street, and every move is a carry. LiteMovers has moved St. Peters households since 2007, and we plan each one as a carry from the first call.

One Street, No Turnaround

  • ✓The village street: narrow, no turnaround, ends at the rocks
  • ✓Weekend visitors: the bakery, the inn, and the falls fill the street from late morning
  • ✓1800s buildings: steep stairs, low frames, small rooms, apartments above shops
  • ✓Roads around the village: long wooded drives with low branches and gravel

Addresses read Saint Peters (19470) or Elverson (19520). The township around the village is covered on Warwick. For the borough five minutes west, see Elverson movers. For the hills to the south, see East Nantmeal.

Planning the Carry

We stage a shorter truck on St. Peters Road at the top of the village and carry the last stretch with dollies and bins. The crew is sized for the carry, not just the house, so a village move gets an extra pair of hands. Everything is wrapped before it leaves the door because the walk is longer than usual. A weekday 8 a.m. start gets the truck in place before visitors arrive.

Apartment above a village shop? We work around the shop’s hours so the shared entry stays clear for customers.

Inside the Old Buildings

The 1800s buildings have steep stairs, low door frames, and rooms built for smaller furniture. We measure every piece on the estimate, protect the stairs and jambs, and use straps for the pieces that cannot turn. When a piece will not fit the stairs and the owner agrees, it goes through a window with a hoist. Our Chester County packing team crates glass and framed work for the carry.

The Roads Around the Village

St. Peters Road, Harmonyville Road, and the lanes toward French Creek State Park lead to homes at the end of long wooded drives. Low branches, gravel, and a creek crossing or two are normal. We scout each on the estimate and bring a shorter truck when needed. GPS through the park is unreliable, so our crews drive the approach the day of the estimate.

Owen J. Roberts Schools and Timing

St. Peters is in the Owen J. Roberts School District. Village moves are small and few, so a week or two of notice usually works outside the busiest summer weeks. Families renovating a village building use our Chester County storage, and anything not making the trip goes to donation or junk removal.

St. Peters Village Moving Questions

Where is St. Peters Village?

On a ledge above French Creek in Warwick Township, in Chester County’s far northern corner. Mail reads Saint Peters (19470) or Elverson (19520). The village is one street of 1800s buildings with the falls below, a bakery, an inn, and shops that draw weekend visitors.

Can a moving truck get into St. Peters Village?

Not a full-size one. The single village street is narrow, has no turnaround, and ends at the rocks. We stage a shorter truck on St. Peters Road at the top of the village and carry the last stretch with dollies. Village moves are planned as carries from the start.

When is the best time to move in St. Peters?

Weekday mornings. Weekends bring visitors for the rocks, the falls, the bakery, and the inn, and they park along the one street. A weekday start at 8 a.m. gets the truck in place before anyone arrives. We avoid festival weekends entirely.

Which school district is St. Peters in?

Owen J. Roberts School District, with Warwick Elementary in Knauertown. Village moves are small and few, so we can usually fit one in with a week or two of notice outside the busiest summer weeks.

What are the village homes like inside?

Old. The 1800s buildings have steep stairs, low door frames, small rooms, and some apartments above the shops. We measure every piece on the estimate, protect the stairs and jambs, and use straps for the pieces that cannot turn. Pieces that will not fit the stairs go through a window with a hoist when the owner agrees.

Do you move homes on the roads around the village?

Yes. St. Peters Road, Harmonyville Road, and the lanes toward French Creek State Park have long wooded drives with low branches and gravel. We scout each on the estimate and bring a shorter truck when needed. Winter moves start later so the hills have thawed.
