Ardmore House and Twin Home Movers
Ardmore’s side streets are full of twin homes, porch-front singles, and older stone houses. They are great homes to live in. They also have tight stairs, shared driveways, and small yards that make moving day tricky. LiteMovers has moved Ardmore homes like these since 2007.

This page is about houses. For apartments, parking, and everything else in town, visit our main Ardmore movers page.
What Makes an Ardmore House Move Different
- ✓Twin homes. Twins share a wall and often a driveway. We plan the truck spot so we do not block your neighbor.
- ✓Three floors plus a basement. Many homes have bedrooms on the third floor. More stairs mean more movers and more time.
- ✓Narrow, turning stairs. Older staircases can stop a sofa or a box spring. We measure first and plan what comes apart.
- ✓Front porches and steps. Porch steps and stone walks add carries. We use ramps and runners to protect them.
- ✓Small lots. There is little room to stage furniture outside. We load in a set order so nothing sits on the curb.
Neighborhoods We Move In
We move homes all over 19003. That includes South Ardmore, the streets off Ardmore Avenue and Linwood Avenue, and the blocks near Lower Merion High School. We also move families on the Haverford Township side of town, where the homes and permit rules are a little different.
Each street has its own quirks. Some are one-way. Some have permit parking. Some have steep driveways. We look at your street during the estimate and send the right truck and the right crew.
How We Protect Older Homes
- ✓Floor runners from the front door to every room we work in.
- ✓Pads on banisters, newel posts, and door frames.
- ✓Every piece of furniture wrapped in the room before it moves.
- ✓Beds and tables taken apart and put back together at the new home.
- ✓Mirrors and framed art packed in their own cartons.

Moving Day, Step by Step
Before we arrive. We confirm the time, the crew size, and where the truck will park. If your street needs no-parking signs, we set them up ahead of time.
Protect first. The crew walks the home with you, then lays runners and pads the stairs and doors. Nothing moves until the house is protected.
Wrap and load. Furniture is wrapped in each room. Beds come apart. Heavy pieces go on the truck first, and boxes fill in around them.
Unload and set up. At the new home, we place furniture where you want it and put beds back together. We do a final walk-through with you before we leave.

Ardmore House Moving FAQs
How many movers do I need for an Ardmore twin home?
Most Ardmore twin homes need a crew of three or four movers. Twins usually have three floors, narrow stairs, and a basement. A fourth mover helps when the carry to the truck is long or the stairs turn. We set the crew size during your estimate.
Can the truck use a shared driveway?
Sometimes. Many Ardmore twins share a driveway with the house next door. We only block a shared drive when the neighbor knows and agrees. Otherwise we load from the street and use extra movers to cover the longer walk.
Do you protect old floors and woodwork?
Yes. We lay runners on floors, pad banisters and door frames, and wrap every piece of furniture before it leaves the room. Older Ardmore homes often have original wood floors and trim, and we treat them with care.
Can you move just a few rooms or a single floor?
Yes. We move full homes, but we also move a few rooms, a basement, or one floor. Small moves get the same licensed W-2 crew and the same care as a full house.
