Meet Ed Bogusz, Owner of LiteMovers
When you schedule an in-person estimate, you meet Ed Bogusz directly. Ed founded LiteMovers in 2007 and has personally overseen thousands of moves across the Greater Philadelphia area.
Ed brings decades of moving industry experience to every estimate. He understands the unique challenges of Main Line estates, Philadelphia row homes, and suburban developments. His expertise helps identify potential issues before moving day.
Meeting the owner also gives you confidence in who you are hiring. You can ask questions, discuss concerns, and get straight answers. Ed takes pride in every move his company handles.
How In-Person Estimates Work
Call our office at (610) 755-5535 to schedule your estimate. We arrange a time that fits your schedule. Ed typically visits during daytime hours on weekdays, but evening and Saturday appointments are available.
During the visit, Ed walks through your entire home with you. He opens closets, looks in garages, and checks basements and attics. He measures large furniture and identifies items that need special handling.
Ed also inspects the outside of your property. He notes driveway conditions, parking access, and any stairs or slopes. He looks at door widths, hallway turns, and elevator access if applicable.
The visit typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on your home size. Ed takes detailed notes and photos to prepare your estimate.
When to Choose an In-Person Estimate
In-person estimates provide the highest level of accuracy. They are ideal for complex moves where visual inspection matters most.
Large estates and historic homes – Properties in Gladwyne, Villanova, and Bryn Mawr often have unique architectural features. In-person visits help us plan around narrow staircases, curved doorways, and delicate finishes.
Valuable antiques and collections – If you have fine art, antique furniture, or valuable collections, Ed can assess special handling needs in person. He identifies items requiring custom crating or climate-controlled transport.
Difficult access situations – Steep driveways, tight parking, third-floor walkups, and construction areas benefit from in-person assessment. Ed can see potential challenges firsthand.
Cross-country and international moves – Long distance moves involve significant investment. In-person estimates ensure nothing is overlooked before your belongings travel thousands of miles.
Estate moves and senior downsizing – Senior moves often involve decades of accumulated belongings. Ed can help identify what to move, donate, or remove during his visit.
What Ed Looks For During His Visit
Ed conducts a thorough assessment during in-person estimates. Here is what he evaluates:
✓ Total volume of furniture and boxes
✓ Heavy items requiring special equipment
✓ Fragile items needing extra protection
✓ Items too large for standard doorways
✓ Disassembly and reassembly requirements
✓ Parking and truck access at both locations
✓ Stairs, elevators, and long carries
✓ Building rules and move-in restrictions
✓ Timing considerations and scheduling needs
Benefits of Meeting the Owner
Working directly with Ed offers advantages beyond an accurate estimate. You get to know the person responsible for your move. You can evaluate his professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail.
Ed can answer questions about the moving process that other estimators might not know. He explains how LiteMovers handles specific situations based on real experience.
During the visit, Ed often shares tips for preparing your home. He might suggest which boxes to pack yourself versus having us pack. He can recommend what to move, sell, or donate.
Meeting Ed also builds trust. Moving involves letting strangers into your home and handling your valuables. Knowing the owner personally creates peace of mind.
Preparing for Your In-Person Estimate
You do not need to clean or organize before Ed visits. He wants to see your home as it normally looks. Stuffed closets and cluttered garages help him understand the full scope of your move.
However, there are a few things that help:
✓ Be ready to show all spaces including basements and attics
✓ Know what items you definitely want to move
✓ Have questions written down so you remember to ask
✓ Know your target moving date or date range
✓ Have your new address and access information ready
If you have items in storage units or other locations, let Ed know. He can factor those into the estimate even without visiting those spaces.
After Your In-Person Estimate
Following his visit, Ed prepares a comprehensive written estimate. You receive this via email within 24 to 48 hours. The estimate includes:
✓ Detailed inventory of items to be moved
✓ Labor and time estimates for loading and unloading
✓ Packing materials and services if requested
✓ Special handling charges for difficult items
✓ Transportation costs and fuel
✓ Storage options if needed
✓ Insurance and valuation coverage options
Ed personally reviews every estimate before sending it. He is available by phone or email to discuss the details and answer questions.
